A Halifax police officer has been cleared by the provinces police watchdog after a police-involved shooting that happened earlier this year.
SiRt says it was January 17 after two NSLC stores were robbed downtown near Quinpool Road.
When trying to arrest him, the suspect didn’t listen and lunged at officers with a knife.
They tased him but it didn’t work and he tried to get away but police followed.
An officer then shot the man after he threatened him with a knife a second time.
He went to hospital, had surgery and recovered.
