An inmate at Springhill Institution has died while in custody.
Correctional officials say the 43-year-old had been serving a two-year sentence at the federal facility since January 29.
The death occurred Wednesday and comes amid a string of violent incidents reported at the institution in recent weeks. However, authorities have not confirmed whether the incidents are connected.
Officials say the inmate’s next of kin have been notified.
