Nova Scotia could move to cut the number of days you need to isolate if you test positive for COVID.
Dr. Robert Strang has already hinted it might be on the agenda during a briefing set for Wednesday.
“Right now people are required to isolate for ten days if they have COVID and close contacts, depending on the situation, have to isolate for multiple days and have negative tests,” Strang said during Monday’s briefing. “There is evolving new evidence on isolation times that Public Health is assessing right now … and we’ll have some final recommendations [Tuesday] that we’ll be able to say more about at our briefing on Wednesday”
In our province, if you test positive, the isolation period is currently ten days but it could be lowered to five.
Many other provinces have been doing this to ensure they maintain staffing levels in essential services.
Premier Tim Houston and Dr. Strang will provide the update at 3 p.m.
