It’s going to be another couple of months before the assault case resumes against the stepfather of two young children who vanished from rural Nova Scotia.
The province’s public prosecution service says it was Monday when the case for Daniel Martell was pushed ahead to July to allow for additional disclosure.
Martell is facing assault, sexual assault and unlawful confinement involving an adult victim who cannot be identified.
The 34-year-old is the stepfather of Jack and Lilly Sullivan.
The brother and sister, four and six years old, disappeared from Pictou County exactly one year ago. They reportedly wandered away from their home in Lansdowne Station.

A vigil was held Saturday, May 2, for the children to mark the one-year anniversary since they vanished. Many are pushing for answers.
RCMP say, they do not have any evidence to support their case as criminal and are now asking the public for “fact-based” tips as a large-scale investigation continues.
