The mayor of Halifax said he’s concerned the province may waste resources doing work the city has already done.
The premier announced the province’s housing plan Wednesday. It includes the creation of a province-led groups for large residential projects and to create a transportation plan for Halifax.
However, Mike Savage said much of that work has happened already, in the city’s Centre Plan and Integrated Mobility Plan.
“I don’t know that the province have looked at all that yet. I’m sure as they look at what they want to do they’ll consider those things,” he said. “I think the work that’s been done has been really, really strong.”
Savage says they look forward to consulting with the province on the details of the strategy.
