A 23-year-old man is facing over dozen charges after a hit and run in Halifax.
The incident unfolded on Monday night when police tried to pull over a man driving with no lights on.
Police say the driver wouldn’t stop and slammed into a vehicle after running a red light at Almond and Oxford Street.
The driver ran off and was arrested without incident. Officers located a firearm on him when they tracked him down.
The two people inside the vehicle that was hit were taken to hospital for treatment.
Tony Deangelo Beals, 23, was scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Tuesday to face charges of:
· Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
· Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
· Possession of a weapon knowing possession is unauthorized
· Possession of a weapon obtained by commission of offence
· Occupant of a motor vehicle in which there is a firearm, prohibited weapon, a restricted weapon
· Carrying a concealed weapon
· Unauthorized possession of a firearm
· Careless use of a firearm
· Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
· Flight-operating motor vehicle in evading a peace officer
· Failure to stop at scene of collision
· Resist/obstruct a peace officer
· Breach of probation
