Two more schools in the Halifax area will close to stop the spread of COVID.
Joseph Howe Elementary and École Mer et Monde in Halifax will cancel in-school learning until next Monday.
“While our goal is to keep students learning in the classroom, I was clear that if stronger measures were needed, like closing a school, we would not hesitate to act,” said Dr. Robert Strang. “The regional medical officer of health team has been closely monitoring this situation and they are recommending a temporary closure to contain the spread.”
More details on re-opening plans will be shared this week.
It comes after the announcement on the weekend that Dartmouth South will shut down until at least Friday.
