Our city has the 12th highest rent in the country for a two-bedroom apartment.
A recent report from Bullpen Research & Consulting looked at rent prices across the country.
The average rent for a two-bedroom apartment in Halifax is $2041.
A one-bedroom apartment isn’t much better, with an average rent of $1574 we’re the 17th most expensive city in the county.
Overall, rents are over $160 a month more than in 2020.
Ben Myers, president of Bullpen Research & Consulting, said this isn’t the end.
“With employment returning to pre-pandemic levels and immigration picking up, expect rental rates to continue to slowly climb over the next 18 months.”
Vancouver topped the list, at $2,155 for a one-bedroom and $2,932 for a two-bedroom, and Toronto came second, $1,938 for a one-bedroom and $2,628 for a two-bedroom.
