If your kids are students at Duc d’Anville Elementary, you’re going to have to find a babysitter.
Officials announced Friday the school will be closed next week to contain the spread of COVID-19.
At-home learning will be in effect from Oct 12 to 15.
Dr. Robert Strang, Nova Scotia’s chief medical officer of health, said it’s required.
“I was clear that if stronger measures were needed, like closing a school, we would not hesitate to act,” he said. “The regional medical officer of health team has been closely monitoring this situation, and they are recommending a temporary closure to contain the spread.”
Public Health’s mobile testing unit will be in the community for the week.
Students will need to provide proof of a negative test result to return to school on Oct. 18.
