If you are looking for childcare in the Beaverbank area, you might be happy to hear a new building is opening later this year.
The province and the feds have teamed up to spend $2 million on the facility oat 925 Windgate Drive, and they made the announcement Monday morning on-site.
Mehrad Mohammadkhani, the Executive Director of the It Takes a Village Daycare Society, said this spot connects multiple areas.
“We have access to Sackville, Fall River, Beaver Bank. That was the main reason. With the consultation with the department, it’s been decided that this is a good location since there’s not many daycares around here,” said Mohammadkhani.
Overall, Mohammadkhani said the three-storey building will cost about $5.1 million.
He said now that the news is out, they are hoping to open up applications for the waitlist soon.
The facility will have space for 174 toddlers and pre-schooled aged children, as well as 20 spots for infants, he said.
