Strike avoided at University of King’s College after deal reached

A potential strike at the University of King’s College has been avoided after a new agreement was reached and ratified.

The University of King’s College Teachers Association says the tentative deal has now been approved by both its membership and the university’s board of governors.

“As a result, the strike action previously under consideration has been averted,” the association said in a statement.

The union also thanked supporters who followed the negotiations closely.

“We wish to express enormous thanks for the support from other unions, colleagues, and especially the King’s student body and student union for their engagement and solidarity throughout the bargaining process.”

The association also acknowledged the university administration for its role in reaching a resolution.

Further details about the agreement have not yet been released, but are expected to be shared at a later date.
