A new riding in Inverness County.
It will be called ‘Cheticamp-Margarees-Pleasant Bay.’
The province accepted the recommendation of an electoral boundaries commission, who encouraged the change to better represent the Acadian community.
A byelection will be held to choose an MLA, it will feature over 3,800 electors.
The rest of the riding will remain, with the current MLA representing it until the next election.
The legislature will grow to 56 seats, it’s the fifth protected riding, including Argyle, Clare, Richmond and Preston.
Justice Minister Scott Armstrong calls it a historic day for the legislature and for Acadian Nova Scotians.
