It was announced yesterday, Terry Fox has been selected to appear on the next $5 bill.

Terry Fox is a Canadian icon who campaigned for cancer research by running his Marathon of Hope in 1980.
In 2020 he was among 8 “iconic Canadians” who were shortlisted from more than 600 nominations.
He will replace Sir Wilfrid Laurier, who will move from the $5 bill to the $50. It’s unclear what will come of William Lyon Mackenzie King who is currently on the $50 bill.
