The Provincial NDP issued a statement about healthcare in Nova Scotia.
Party Leader Claudia Chender says many people have shared stories about their struggle to see a doctor and access care they need.
Families continue to struggle to access primary health care and afford medications and last month the Primary Care Provider Waitlist reached 125,000 people.
The party’s health spokesperson Susan Leblanc says the governments virtual care has also struggled under the surge in demand. The increased wait list has led to pressures on ER’s across the province that has nearly overwhelmed the health care system.
The NDP caucus says Nova Scotians deserve serious improvements to health care this year and more needs to be done to fix the universal public healthcare system.
