The top movies, or top anything of the year is very subjective. What I loved, you may hate, none the less here are my top five movies of 2022.
This is also only based on what I got to see, so a movie like Wakanda Forever didn’t make the list because I have yet to check it out.
Before we get into the list some honorable mentions, these came close, just couldn’t crack the list. In no order here are some of the honorable mentions:

#5 – The Fablemans
This semi-autobiographical movie from perhaps the greatest filmmaker of all time, Steven Spielberg, is touching and heartfelt
#4 – Avatar: The Way of Water
James Cameron does it again, he is the king of sequels. This surpasses the original in every way. I am convinced he could make Titanic 2 and it would be great.
#3 – Top Gun: Maverick
Somehow, they made a Top Gun sequel, and it was amazing! I wasn’t shocked how well this did at the box office, I was shocked how well this movie was made
#2 – The Batman
Matt Reeves made a brilliant, moody noir film that fits Batman perfectly. There were moments in this movie that brought me to tears
#1 – Prey
An amazing return to form for the Predator franchise, a unique setting and amazing performances set this one apart!
