How does a pain free tattoo sound? No, it isn’t just a press on, well it sort of is.
One company claims they have created such a beast.
Micro Biomedical, says it’s developed painless and bloodless tattoos that can be self-administered.
Their invention involves a low-cost skin patch containing microscopic, ink-filled needles. The patch is pressed into the skin to apply the tattoo. The microneedles can be arranged in different shapes, and with different colors to create the design.
The process was developed with the idea that it would be best for medical tattoos.
Those tattoos often cover up scars or restore nipples after breast surgery, among many other applications.
However, people quickly saw there could be a bigger market for painless tattoos.
They say the goal is not to replace traditional tattooing, just add another option.
