“Spotify is spreading fake information on vaccines” citing the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. He continued and even gave an ultimatum to the music platform saying, “They can have Rogan or Young. Not both.”
The Rogan Experience show is now almost 1,800 episodes deep. It’s been running since December of 2009. It’s also become a lightning rod of criticism over the past few years based on the host’s controversial take on vaccinations.
Well, Spotify decided to take Neil’s music down and keep The Joe Rogan experience.
Spotify spokesperson said the company regrets Young’s decision “but hope[s] to welcome him back soon.” “We want all the world’s music and audio content to be available to Spotify users,” the statement reads, “With that comes great responsibility in balancing both safety for listeners and freedom for creators. We have detailed content policies in place and we’ve removed over 20,000 podcast episodes related to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.”
