We know Halifax loves it’s comic book flicks. We were at Hal-Con a week ago and saw the incredible costumes, the pageantry, the presentation and the passion (sorry for the alliteration). We know it burns deep within your loins like a flank steak on a summer grill.
However, with all of that said, we’re sorry, but this movie is not going to be good. Period.
When your sole goal is putting together an all-star cast, the movie is always terrible. Marvel’s latest superhero flick stars Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, Kit Harrington (Jon Snow) Richard Madden (Rob Stark), Harry Styles and Gil Birmingham (Thomas Rainwater from Yellowstone). They took the most well-known stars from TV and film right now and said, “Here’s some cash. Go film it.”

Yes, you could argue that the Avengers was an all-star cast and did well, but that’s taking the best of the best from prior movies. This is starting a brand new story with characters that the audience hasn’t met. It has flop written all over it. Sadly, the Marvel fan base is far too large and far too loyal though. So, even if this is a total dumpster fire, it’ll still bring in big dollars.
The burning question at the end of the day will be, what will Rotten Tomatoes say? Their rating will reveal the fate of the flick once it goes to a streaming service and so far it’s not so hot clocking in at a mean 52% – at the time of this article’s posting.
Might I add that I have also won 81 of 117 games this NFL season. That’s a strong 69% and good enough for first place in our Morning Surge NFL pool. In other words, I’m saying there’s a 69% chance that you’re going to be asking for a refund this weekend.
Apologies for all of the math. Don’t worry though, it checks out.
…we think.
