The Jamaican Bobsled Team is making it’s illustrious return to the Winter Games. They haven’t competed since 2014, but they’re back in the mix for Beijing 2022.
Led by Shanwayne Stephens, Ashley Watson, Rolando Reid and Matthew Wekpe will be in the midst of some heavy competition once again. That’s not the big story here though.

The somewhat big headline is that a Caribbean island with consistent 30-plus degree temperatures is competing in a winter sport.
The decently huge headline is that we all now get to relive our childhoods and have yet another reason to watch Cool Runnings.
The massively great headline is that we now another reason to care about these games. So, by our count that makes maybe three or four?
Men’s hockey is out the door for us with no NHL’ers on the map. There are also a number of athletes that have declined the invite as well. However, women’s hockey is at the forefront, especially with a pair of Nova Scotians suiting up (and a pair of coaches).
Don’t get us wrong, we love the ski and snow cross events, the freestyle skiing and the figure skating is always a guilty pleasure too, but this adds a tiny bit of allure to a very tainted games.
And, from an entertainment standpoint – these days – we should probably just take what we can get.
