Fire crews spent a portion of the day searching the North End of Halifax after widespread reports of a possible gas leak in the area.
Many residents reported a bad smell in the area which prompted the probe.
Halifax Fire crews could not find a leak after a rigorous search.
The smell was attributed to a ship unloading fuel at the port.
