The Department of Labour is investigating after two men were hurt at a work site in Dartmouth.
The men fell from scaffolding on Monday afternoon.
They were both taken to hospital and one man is believed to have suffered life threatening injuries.
The construction site they were working on is just off Albro Lake Road.
