The Halifax modular housing site has been chosen, the parking lot of the Centennial Pool.
This site will have nine total units; six modular hosuing units, an accessible unit, and two support units.
It’s enough housing for 38 people. The modular units are designed with shared laundry and kitchens, and private beds and bathrooms.
They are set to be finsihed by the end of January.
City officials said the province and Out of the Cold are responsible for running program, so will decide when to bring the first people in once the units are ready to go.
The city promised to house unhomed people after protestors clashed with police during the removal of homeless encampments in August.
