If you’ve gone through the Windsor Street Exchange during rush hour, then you know it can take a while.
The city is in the midst of a massive redevelopment project to make it easier to get in and out of the downtown core. Roughly 48,000 vehicles travel through the intersection each day and during rush hour it becomes clogged up.
The municipality has already collected feedback from the community on how people want to travel through the Windsor Street Exchange now and in the future and how to make it safer for cyclists and transit to navigate the area.
The project team now has two design options they are looking at and will share their plans in a virtual open house Wednesday night. The virtual meeting will be held on Microsoft Teams at 6 p.m. and you can register by clicking the link below.
Meantime, a new survey launches as well as another way to provide input on the project.
It’s hoped the design plan will be finalized by 2023 while construction will take two to three years, and is expected to begin in 2024.
