This year marks the 20th anniversary of Joel Plaskett’s Down at the Khyber. An album that helped put Joel on the national map. It received critical acclaim and garnered a Juno nomination for Alternative album of the year.
To celebrated the occasion Joel Plaskett has re-recorded the album for a live stream, and a limited edition double vinyl “Twenty Years Gone: The Joel Plaskett Emergency Revisits Down at the Khyber”. You can grab it now at joelplaskett.com, there has been some talk of a digital release as well.
A great way to revisit an album that was named the 46th greatest Canadian album of all time by Bob Mersereau in his book The Top 100 Canadian Albums.
