A Lawrencetown business has been engulfed by flames.
Halifax Fire District Chief Stephen Turner tells our newsroom crews were called to the blaze at the pizza joint on Lawrencetown Road near Doherty Drive at around 3 a.m.
“When they arrived they found a large commercial structure, and one side of it was very involved with fire, with the roof starting to collapse,” Turner says. “They made a concerted effort and at this point we’ve managed to stop the fire from spreading to the pizza shop.”
Turner says the building’s storage area was hit hardest by the flames, while the restaurant has some smoke and water damage.
Photos on social media show the blaze consuming the building.
