SailGP has confirmed it will return to Halifax in 2027.
The international sailing league announced its 2027 schedule Wednesday, with Halifax once again included as part of the global racing circuit.
The Halifax event is scheduled for May 15 and 16, 2027.
The announcement means Halifax will host SailGP races in back-to-back years for the first time, with the event already set to return this June.
Halifax first joined the SailGP calendar in 2024.
According to Discover Halifax, that inaugural event generated nearly $45 million in economic spinoff activity for the region through tourism, hospitality and visitor spending.
The 2027 SailGP season will feature 13 events across five continents, beginning in Hong Kong in January and including stops in cities such as San Francisco, New York, Rio de Janeiro, Dubai and Valencia.
The league says the schedule also reflects a growing focus on long-term partnerships with host cities as SailGP continues expanding globally.
SailGP features high-speed F50 catamarans racing close to shore, with boats capable of reaching speeds exceeding 100 kilometres per hour.
This year’s Halifax SailGP event is scheduled for June 20-21.
