The Halifax Macdonald Bridge will be closed to all traffic from 8 p.m. Friday, April 17 until 5:30 a.m. Monday, April 20 as phase 2 work begins on the Halifax Tower.
Crews will be removing old paint, inspecting the steel, carrying out repairs, and applying a new protective coating.
Pedestrian and cycling lanes will also close, however, up to four free bus tickets per person are available for weekend travel while the lanes are closed. Tickets can be picked up at any time beginning Wednesday morning at the Macdonald Bridge Administration Building at 125 Wyse Road.
Halifax Bridges says commuters should plan ahead, use the MacKay Bridge, and expect some delays.
