There is extensive damage to a Bedford business after a commercial fire broke out sending one firefighter to hospital with minor injuries, according to Halifax Fire.
In an interview with our newsroom late Sunday afternoon, Halifax Fire said firefighter has since been released from hospital and the blaze was out.
Halifax Professional Fire Fighters said they received the call at around 8:30 a.m., for a fire at a business in a strip mall on Hogan Court.
In a post on social media the union said it is the equivalent of an “above third alarm in both personnel and apparatus” and conditions were challenging.
At about 11 a.m., the union said they are making “steady progress”.
“Coverage across the municipality is limited due to the significant resources committed to this incident,” says the union.
The exact business where the fire was is unclear, however, in a post on social media, Jet Legend Asian Fusion Buffett said they are closed due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
According to Halifax Professional Fire Fighters, this incident required both of HRM’s 100-foot aerials, responding from opposite sides of the harbour.
