RCMP in Halifax are looking for information from the public after a van was stolen in Upper Tantallon.
According to a press release, officers responded to a report of a vehicle theft Sunday at approximately 8:43 p.m. on French Village Station Road.
The driver of a Ford Transit van was parked when the suspect pulled them out of the van and threw them to the ground.
The driver was not injured.
The suspect drove the van toward Highway 103.
The van was located soon after in the 7900 block of St. Margarets Bay Road in Ingramport, thanks to a GPS tracking device.
The Halifax Regional Police Canine Unit was brought in to help track the suspect, but he was not located.
The suspect is described as male, possibly in his 30s, about 5-10, with a slim-to-medium build. He was wearing dark clothing and a face mask.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment at 902-490-5020.
That includes anyone with dashcam footage from the area of Hammonds Plains Road, from French Village Station Road to Highway 103, and Highway 103 westbound from Tantallon to Ingramport, between 8:30 and 8:45 p.m.
