The community is starting to rally around a local business that was devastated by a fire over the weekend.
A GoFundMe is circulating online for Danny’s Place Cafe & Laundromat in Head of Jeddore.
The fire happened on the night of June 7th at the Forest Hills Shopping Plaza near Highway 7.
The organizer of the fundraiser is the owner’s sister Michaela Esmail, who says the cafe and laundromat are badly damaged and will not be able to open for a very long time.

“She [Danielle Esmail] has an 8- and 5-year-old and unfortunately, they’re not going to be able to financially support their home and children on just her husband’s income,” says the GoFundMe.
The post adds, owning a cafe like this, has always been her sister’s dream.
“Where she can show off her amazing baking skills and give people a cozy place to get together, whether it just be the older men and women who came for coffee and good conversation, or the families who brough their littles in for a good meal,” the fundraiser says.

The goal is to raise $30,000, with $850 already gathered.
The fire did affect neighbouring businesses including the Old No. 7 Restaurant who had some minor water damage and had to briefly close.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
