The Burnside connector highway is still going to open this year, according to an email from the Department of Public Works.
More than 40,000 people travel through Magazine Hill and the Bedford Bypass every day and this new, four-lane twinned highway would free up those roadways.
It will run from Lower Sackville to Burnside.
Construction was delayed several times because of weather, relocating utilities and replanting some endangered ash trees.
But the province says it should stay within the $210 million budget.
They will release the official cost once work is complete.
