Much of the Maritimes is in for torrential rain this weekend.
Environment Canada is forecasting significant rainfall for most of the region from Friday evening into Saturday.
Rainfall warnings and weather statements are issued for Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI.
Rainfall rates near 25 mm per hour are possible over some locations.
In western parts of this province including Halifax, up to 60 mm could fall, with up to 100 mm in heaviest downpours. Winds could gust up to 80 km/h on Saturday.
Central and eastern Nova Scotia could get 30 to 50 mm of rainfall with locally higher amounts possible and gusty winds.
The forecaster warns that the wet, windy weather could lead to broken tree branches and scattered utility outages.
There is also the potential for flash floods, washouts and water pooling on roads.
