Sinéad O’Connor passed away yesterday at the age of 56.The family announced her passing yesterday, but didn’t reveal the cause of death. Sinead had a history of mental health struggles, and her 17-year-old son Shane took his own life just last year. Last week, Sinead posted that she’s been “living as an undead night creature” since his death.
She’s well known for taking moral and political stands. She had many beautiful songs but Nothing Compares 2 U”, was her only one to chart the top 40. It was written by Prince and was #1 for 4 weeks in 1990.
Tributes for her have been pouring in for her since it was announced
for all us street kids, for all us wildlings, when sinead got huge, it felt like one of us made it. It was incredible. im not trying to compare myself or anyone else to sinead, she is one of a kind, but thats what it felt like to me. like she was one of us. she was like billie…
