Last week my wife and I headed down to Florida to check out some of the new stuff at Disney World. Now if you know me I always want to go there. However, they have been consistently adding new rides so I was super stoked this time.
If you are headed down some tips for you, if you can stay on park. It makes getting around a whole lot easier. I always try to stay at the Swan or Dolphin. You can walk to Epcot or Hollywood Studios from there, plus you are right next to the Boardwalk, which has some great food! Plus, you get views like this!
There were two new coasters I had to check out Tron Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot. I can say neither disappointed. Even my wife who is not a giant coaster fan loved both of these rides. Tron maybe my new fave coaster anywhere. As I kid I watched the first Tron movie almost on a loop, and this ride is the closest you will ever get to riding a lightcycle. It feels like you have been pulled into the grid. If you can ride it at night, the canopy all lit up is something special.
Having said all this great stuff about Tron doesn’t mean Guardians is a slouch, it is a blast as well! Featuring the stars of the films and a killer soundtrack this coaster spins as you go, allowing you to see the action around you. It is a very cool way to enjoy the story of the ride without cranking your neck around.
Of course, all the classics are still there, and I had to get multiple trips on the Haunted Mansion. Hands down my all time favorite ride!
I must also recommend heading to Gideons Bake Shop at Disney Springs, some of the best cookies I have ever had! They also have a peanut butter cold brew coffee that is out of this world. I know coffee and peanut butter sounds weird but trust me on this one.
