Nova Scotia lost 14 people to COVID-19 last month.
Our province is out with its September report on the virus, which shows 93 percent of those who died were aged 70 or older.
There were over 200 hospitalizations and more than 4,600 lab-confirmed cases.
The report says people who have not rolled up their sleeves for a COVID-19 vaccine continue to be hospitalized at a higher rate.
“Unvaccinated Nova Scotians were hospitalized at almost three times (2.8) the rate and died at three times (3.0) the rate as those with three or more doses,” the report says.
Nova Scotians aged 70 and up have been hospitalized at almost 17 times the rate of those 18 to 49. According to the report, their rate of death is 181 times higher compared to those under 50.
The number of positive results, hospitalizations, and deaths decreased last month compared to August.
