Nova Scotia’s Lieutenant Governor Arthur LeBlanc has announced the province will host a commemorative service in Halifax to honour the late Queen.
“Her late Majesty’s reign embodies the importance of commitment to one’s community and country,” said Lt-Gov LeBlanc. “To honour her legacy, the province recommits itself to service. Through compassion, perseverance and dedication to our relationships and chosen work, we continue to build a province where all can live with dignity and peace.”
A multi-faith service will take place on Monday, September 13 at the Cathedral Church of All Saints, the same day as the late Queen’s official funeral service in London, England.
The service will start at 2:00 p.m., however, anyone attending is asked to arrive early and be seated no later than 1:30 p.m..
During the service, Lt.-Gov. LeBlanc will deliver a eulogy and Premier Tim Houston will give a tribute to the late Queen.
