We are smack dab in the middle of gym season. Everyone wants to hit Rainbow Haven with a little shred on their shoulders, but many people are also forgetting the golden rules of the gym in the process.
#3. Wear Deodorant or an Anti-Perspirant
As a courtesy to others at the very least, please don’t smell like an old shoe. There’s nothing worse than sitting by the loose weights, mid-workout and enjoying your session when somebody walks in and absolutely scorches the room with their stench. You have to decide do I abandon my workout or sit in the stink.
Don’t do that to the others. Please.
Now, with that said, some people work up a stink whilst wearing a little pit stick. That’s okay. All we’re looking for here is a courtesy swipe of the stick. Don’t try and be an au naturel hero.
We beg you!
#2. Don’t Hog Multiple Machines and Weights
Everyone loves doing a superset. You do a little shoulders and then a little arms maybe. You do your sets one after the other. It’s a great thing. The part that makes it awkward and rude for others is when you hog multiple machines and or multiple sets of weights at the same time.
Perhaps you can stay at the gym for an extra five minutes and not hog all of the equipment for multiple workouts at once.
#1. Don’t Drop Your Weights
Enough is enough. When you drop your weights and give a loud grunt, we get it – you’re big and strong. Did you know though you can be big and strong and also respectful of others? Now, of course, if you’re lifting a ton of weight and are at the end of a long set, it’s understandable. If you’re dropping weights just cause and or smacking the weights down on a machine, I can guarantee you that everybody’s remorse for you is an all-time low.
That’s it. Happy workouts one and all!
