Glastonbury is one of the biggest international music festivals held in Somerset, England. Around these parts, you’d have to say Coachella is the largest North American music fest, but it pales in comparison to the star power that heads to the UK every summer.
Dave Grohl Returns
This year Paul McCartney was one of the main headliners and he surprised the crowd with two surreal cameos. The Boss – Bruce Springsteen brought the crowd to their feet, but Dave Grohl was the headline, the body and the full story as he performed for the first time on stage since the passing of Foo Fighters drummer and friend Taylor Hawkins.
Olivia Rodrigo Leaned Into US Supreme Court
As mentioned, this was the biggest weekend in music and it just so happened to land right after the US Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe vs. Wade which essentially now strips millions of US women of their right to be pro-choice.
So, it was no surprise that many US-born singers, let alone female US-born singers, took to the mic early and often to display their displeasure.

Phoebe Bridgers Lambastes the US Supreme Court
Olivia Rodrigo wasn’t the only one to get in on the act. Phoebe Bridgers, who hails from Pasadena, CA, took to the mic and got the crowd to join in on a “F### the Supreme Court” chant.

The next huge music festival to hit the UK will be Reading Festival in late August. A few of their headliners that may peak your interest this year are the Arctic Monkeys and Rage Against the Machine.
Meanwhile, locally, the countdown is on for Rock the Hub in Truro July 29-31.
