Environment Canada is out with a snowfall warning for much of the province on Monday with up to 20 cm expected to fall in our region.
Wind gusts up to 70 km per hour are also in the forecast.
The Halifax Regional Centre for Education says schools are open, but in a Tweet posted shortly before 8 a.m., it said buses are no longer running.
“All schools in HRCE are open, however, transportation service providers have informed us that they are NOT running today (Monday, April 4, 2022). We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience,” the Tweet says.
HRCE says more details are to come.

Meantime, all schools under the CSAP are closed. Saint Mary’s University says it’s open but is monitoring the weather conditions and will update if the situation changes.
The city says it’s keeping a close watch on the system. Crews were salting streets and sidewalks overnight in preparation.
Officials also remind you that the winter parking ban is not enforced after March 31st, but cars can still be towed if they’re interfering with snow clearing operations.
If you have travel plans, it might be a good idea to check ahead. Several flights are delayed or cancelled at the Halifax Airport.
The spring storm is supposed to taper off through this evening.

- HRCE schools are OPEN, busses are NOT running
- Classes are cancelled for all CSAP schools
- Classes are cancelled at Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education, the South Shore Regional Centre for Education, the Strait Regional Centre for Education, and the Tri-County Regional Centre for Education.
Travel:
- Some flights have been cancelled at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport
