The year is almost a quarter over and we finally have our first sighting of Nessie!
The last officially time the creature was spotted was in October. 2021 saw 16 sightings, the second most in a single year since 2000.
This newest sighting was witnessed by prolific Loch Ness Monster spotter Eoin O’Faodhagain. This is his 15th time reporting a sighting.
According to him, the video shows “something unexplained captured through the Loch Ness Webcam, on the 23rd of March, at 15.26 pm, two objects seem to be moving parallel to each other across the middle of the screen.”

What do you think of the videos?

This Nessie sighting has now been proven to be two men on paddle boards, and therefore it has been removed from the register of sightings for this year. Unfortunately it demonstrates beyond any reasonable doubt that the webcam is not capable of identifying some objects in some conditions, and that therefore any potential “Nessie” sighting reported from it cannot be considered to be evidence. Until we have better webcams installed around Loch Ness this technology cannot help to solve this mystery.
