Two local bands have gotten a big nod in this year’s East Coast Music Awards.
Halifax’s Hillsburn and The Town Heroes each got five, tying for the most award nominations received.
Mike Ryan, of The Town Heroes, says it’s an honour.
“It’s amazing, anytime you’re nominated and recognized within the industry, and especially the ECMAs,” he says. “There’s a lot of amazing artists, and just to be recognised amongst them, certainly, means a lot to us.”
Ryan says he’s looking forward to going to the ECMAs, hopefully in person, in Fredericton in May.
The Town Heroes are nominated for:
- Rock Recording of the Year
- Song of the Year
- Songwriter of the Year
- Fans’ Choice Entertainer of the Year
- Group Recording of the Year
Hillsburn is on the ballot for:
- Album of the Year
- Group Recording of the Year
- Pop Recording of the Year
- Song of the Year
- Fans’ Choice Entertainer of the Year
