A special weather statement remains in effect for Halifax Metro and Halifax County West as prolonged periods of snowfall and freezing rain continue along the coast.
Temperatures are expected to hover just below freezing at around -3°C, with a wind chill making it feel closer to -9. Strong coastal winds may bring gusts up to 70 km/h, reducing visibility and creating hazardous conditions.
Nova Scotians can expect to wake up to 5–10 cm of snow, with additional flurries possible later this evening.
