As Team Canada prepares to take on the world stage, 50 athletes, coaches, and support staff are heading to Italy next week for the Milan Cortina Paralympics.
The national roster features athletes from nine provinces, showcasing the depth of Canada’s Paralympic talent. Among them are three competitors from the East Coast — including a trailblazer from Nova Scotia.
Emma Archibald is set to make history as Canada’s first Paralympian to compete in cross-country skiing. She was born with Amniotic Band Syndrome and clubbed feet, and her debut marks a major milestone for the province and for adaptive sports in Canada.
The Milan Cortina Paralympic Games officially kick off on March 6 with the Opening Ceremony and will run through March 15.
