Nova Scotia’s Workers’ Compensation Board is warning workers to take extra care after the latest nor’easter.
They say snow and ice-related injuries are running 40 per cent higher than last winter, with 278 reported so far.
They say most are slips and falls that happen in the days after a storm.
Over the last three winters, 121 workers have suffered broken bones, and 58 have experienced head injuries and concussions.
WCB says workers and employers should clear walkways, slow down, and use proper winter gear.
