Diane Keaton, the Oscar-winning actress known for her roles in “Annie Hall”, “The Godfather”, and “Father of the Bride”, has died at the age of 79.
People magazine has confirmed that Keaton passed away in California.
A family spokesperson shared the news and asked for some privacy during this difficult time. No other details have been shared yet.
Keaton’s career took off in the 1970s with her role as Kay Adams in “The Godfather” films.
She later won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Woody Allen’s “Annie Hall” in 1977.
She had many achievements throughout her decades-long acting career, including comedies such as “The First Wives Club” and “Something’s Gotta Give”.
As well as other projects like the “Book Club films”, “Justin Bieber: Ghost”, and “Finding Dory”.
Born Diane Hall in Los Angeles in 1946, she took her mother’s maiden name, Keaton, when she started acting.
She never married but adopted two children, Dexter and Duke.
Keaton is survived by her children.
