You can no longer use MACPASS Plus to pay for parking at Halifax Stanfield International Airport.
The change is a step toward taking away the tolls from the Macdonald and MacKay bridges.
“Beginning March 3, will not be able to ENTER the parking lots using MACPASS Plus. If you have parked at the lots prior to this date, you will be able to exit using MACPASS Plus and you will be charged for the parking as usual,” says Halifax Harbour Bridges on their website.
Removing the toll booths was a campaign promise from Premier Tim Houston and was made good when the provincial budget was announced a couple of weeks ago.
There has been a lot of mixed reaction to the move with one councillor who thinks it may end up bringing more congestion than relief.
The tolls will come down April 1.
