A 19-year-old woman is charged with attempted murder after a six-year-old child was stabbed multiple times in downtown Halifax.
Police say Elliott Chorny is scheduled to appear in court Monday morning facing charges for attempted murder as well as possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace.
It was around 1:20 p.m., Sunday on the 1900 block of Barrington Street when police were called to the scene.
The child had life-threatening injuries and was taken to the IWK where they remain.
The victim and suspect are not believed to be known to each other.
