If you are expecting some essential mail from the province, delayed from the postal strike, you can pick it up this weekend.
You would have received a call from government staff, letting you know it’s available.
Mail will be at Access Nova Scotia centres, Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and you’ll need your I.D.
The Antigonish office will not be open until Monday because it is changing locations to 68 Sears Ross Rd.
Items available include:
– Heating Assistance Rebate Program cheques
– Maintenance Enforcement Program cheques
– Property Tax Rebate for Seniors payments
– Seniors Care Grant cheques
– long-term care reassessment forms.
If you are a client of the Department of Community Services who receives cheques, you should contact your caseworkers directly. Cheques can be picked up at a Community Services office.
The province will not collect or deliver items including:
– passport applications
– federal government GST/HST rebate cheques
– power bills
– holiday cards or gifts.
If you haven’t gotten the call yet, the province asks you be patient.
If you’d rather pickup on another day, you can ask if there is another option.
