Roads could get messy in parts of the Maritimes with the first significant snow of the season.
A snowfall warning has been issued for most of New Brunswick with 15 to 20 cm expected late Thursday into Friday morning.
In Nova Scotia, a special weather statement calls for 5 to 10 cm in Cumberland, Inverness (Mabou and north) and Victoria counties, especially over higher terrain. Watch for slushy conditions through the Cobequid Pass and in the Cape Breton Highlands.
Central and western Prince Edward Island could also get near 10 cm of snow.
Environment Canada says precipitation will begin as rain but will transition to snow and then back to rain. Travel could become difficult with accumulating snow overnight. Motorists should be prepared for winter driving conditions.
