The Lower Sackville Arena will get a total of $75,000 for the upcoming year.
The city council voted in favour of the funding yesterday for the Lake District Recreation Association, a not-for-profit that manages the arena.
The rink recently caused a lot of anxiety in the community when they announced they wouldn’t put ice in for the upcoming season for financial reasons.
However, area concillor Paul Russell previously told our newsroom that he was working to get that money.
The final funding agreement for the upcoming season is $25,000 more than Russell originally said, thanks to some fellow councillors who contributed with their district funds.
